The Details

The Hoboken Bar-Athon will take place throughout the city of Hoboken, spanning a good portion of its one mile squared area. After meeting at the designated starting point, there is no official route. You may go any way and in any order you like.

What You Get:

The cost of the Bar-Athon is $25.00 for registering prior, and $30.00 day of. For this you will receive an Official Hoboken Bar-Athon T shirt, sweatband, and a $5.00 donation will be made to charity on your behalf. This is all non-refundable.

Here Are The Rules:

While participating in the Bar-Athon, there are a few basic rules to abide by. They are basically rules everyone should live by in life anyway, but let's reiterate them:
  • You must be at least 21 years of age and have the proper identification to show at all bars. We are not responsible for anyone who is not 21 or has a fake ID.

  • Be respectful to the community and people around. Have fun, but ask yourself these questions when you think are going to do something you may find questionable:

    Will this get me arrested?

Will this get me any kind of ticket/citation?

Will this get me thrown out of the bar?

Will this get me struck by a member of the opposite sex?

Will this get me struck by a member of the same sex?

Will this cause the bouncers of the bar to do a 2 minute tap dance routine on my skull?

Will this cause me to be labeled as "That guy/girl"?

  • If for whatever reason you are asked to leave a bar, or not allowed in, you have to respect the decision by that establishment. They have the right to remove or turn away anyone. Just move on. There are plenty more bars on the list.

  • While this is a Bar-Athon, that just means that you should visit each bar. You do not need to drink at every bar. You just have to visit them. You can get a soda or water if you like. You can just go in for 5 minutes if you like, and then check off your shirt and move on. The point of this day is not to see who can get the drunkest. It is to enjoy yourself with a bunch of other people, make some friends, and give a little bit to charity.
Also, if you do not choose to drink at all, this is a nice little mile plus trek around town, and could actually be good for you.
  • Most importantly, HAVE FUN! This was put together as a fun event. There is no need for fighting, drama, or anything else that can be equated to an episode of The Hills. Enjoy yourselves people!
